1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how Adventures Northwest, Inc., a Washington corporation doing business as "Events and Adventures" ("Events & Adventures," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit events-and-adventures.com (the "Site"), submit a form on the Site, or otherwise interact with our singles social club services, events, and group travel programs (collectively, the "Services").

By using the Site or providing your information through it, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or submit any information through it.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you complete a form on the Site (for example, to request information about membership or a trip), we collect the information you submit, which may include:

  • First and last name
  • Email address
  • Mobile or other phone number
  • City or club location
  • Your selection regarding marketing SMS consent
  • Any other information you choose to share with us in messages, calls, or membership applications

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, referring URLs, and the dates and times of your visits. This information is collected through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies (see Section 7 below).

2.3 Information from Third Parties

We may receive limited information about you from advertising platforms (such as Meta or Google) or analytics providers in connection with marketing campaigns, lead-generation activities, and audience measurement.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and contact you about Events & Adventures membership, events, and trips;
  • Schedule and confirm consultation appointments with a membership representative;
  • Send marketing and promotional SMS messages you have opted in to receive (such as announcements of upcoming social mixers, singles events, group travel and adventure trips, member promotions, and special offers on membership);
  • Send emails relating to your inquiry, membership, or our Services;
  • Process membership applications, payments, and renewals;
  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site and Services;
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service;
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access.

4. SMS Messaging Program

We operate a marketing SMS program that uses an optional consent checkbox on our forms. The checkbox is not required to submit a form, and you may submit a form without consenting to receive any SMS.

4.1 Marketing SMS

If you check the marketing SMS consent box, you consent to receive marketing and promotional SMS from Events & Adventures, including announcements of upcoming social mixers and singles events, invitations to group travel and adventure trips, exclusive member promotions, and special offers on membership.

4.2 Frequency, Costs, and Help

Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. For help, reply HELP to any message we send you, or contact us using the details in Section 14.

4.3 Opting Out

You may opt out of the SMS program at any time by replying STOP to any message we send you. After replying STOP, you will receive a single confirmation message and will not receive further SMS messages from the program. You may also opt out by contacting us at the phone number in Section 14.

4.4 Mobile Information Sharing

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All categories of personal information described in this Policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

We share mobile information only with subcontractors that support the SMS program (such as our messaging platform and CRM provider), and only to the extent necessary to deliver the messages you have consented to receive.

5. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the limited circumstances described below.

5.1 Service Providers

We share information with vendors and service providers that perform services on our behalf, such as our customer relationship management (CRM) platform, SMS messaging platform, email service provider, payment processor, web hosting provider, and analytics providers. These providers are contractually limited to using the information only to perform services for us.

5.2 Legal and Safety

We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with a subpoena, court order, or other legal obligation; (b) enforce our Terms of Service; (c) protect the rights, property, or safety of Events & Adventures, our members, our staff, or others; or (d) investigate or prevent suspected fraud, security incidents, or illegal activity.

5.3 Business Transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to standard confidentiality protections.

5.4 With Your Consent

We may share information for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time we collect the information, or with your express consent.

6. Information We Do Not Share

As stated in Section 4.4, mobile information (including phone numbers collected for SMS purposes and SMS opt-in consent records) is never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell, rent, or trade mobile information for any reason.

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Site uses cookies, pixels, and similar tracking technologies, including those provided by third parties such as Google Analytics and Meta. These technologies help us measure and improve the performance of the Site, understand how visitors use it, and deliver relevant advertising on third-party platforms.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of personalized advertising through industry tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance or the Network Advertising Initiative. Disabling certain cookies may affect Site functionality.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it in accordance with our retention practices.

9. Your Rights and Choices

9.1 General Rights

You may request to access, correct, update, or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us using the information in Section 14. We will respond to verifiable requests as required by applicable law.

9.2 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to: (a) know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell about you; (b) request deletion of personal information; (c) request correction of inaccurate personal information; (d) opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we do not sell personal information); and (e) be free from discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

9.3 Marketing Communications

You may opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, and you may opt out of marketing SMS by replying STOP as described in Section 4.3.

10. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to individuals under 18 years of age, and Events & Adventures membership is restricted to adults age 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly market to anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it.

11. Data Security

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Third-Party Links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites and services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated to you by reasonable means, which may include posting a notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
